Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Collections Representative in Hillsboro, OR, to support members facing financial difficulties. Initially on-site with a 90-day training period, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule balancing in-office collaboration and remote work.

Responsibilities include handling collections across auto loans, credit cards, mortgages, and other lending products, identifying repayment solutions, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a collections, sales, or customer service position, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong listening skills with the ability to ask probing questions to understand member needs and address objections.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak and write clearly and professionally.
• Ability to handle sensitive documents and confidential information in a professional and secure manner.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to members in financial difficulty by identifying acceptable payment arrangements.
• Make collection attempts by telephone and email on auto loans, credit cards, mortgages, and other lending products.
• Review and submit accounts for loan workout arrangements, including extensions, forbearance, and partial payment plans.
• Identify accounts requiring adverse actions and escalate per guidelines.
• Identify gaps in collection processes and recommend improvements to efficiency and compliance.
• Participate in department projects, contributing frontline collections insights.
• Manage time to handle multiple accounts and documentation within timelines.
• Handle sensitive documents and member information securely and confidentially.
• Communicate clearly with members and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Explain loan basics like APR and amortization to discuss repayment options.
