Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a delinquency collections specialist to locate, notify, and secure payments from customers with past due accounts. You will use text, calls, and letters to encourage resolution and document all communication in the CRM.

Responsibilities include receiving payments, balancing cash, visiting customers as needed, preparing legal paperwork for severely delinquent accounts, and coordinating with the Store Manager and Credit Manager to resolve delinquencies while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; six months experience in payment collections or related office procedures.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
• Ability to communicate with customers via text or phone to discuss overdue payments.
• Strong accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Sends text messages, mails form letters and/or late charge notices to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Confer with customers by text or telephone attempting to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with customer in an attempt to gain payment.
• Documents all correspondence and attempted correspondence with customers concerning accounts.
• Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer’s account.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer and ensures security when unattended.
• Travels to customers’ homes to collect on late payments; assists with repossessions of merchandise, if approved.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts.
• Initiates credit investigations by telephone for new credit account applicants under direction of the Credit Manager.
• Logs details of work activities daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Receives various documentation and reports; reviews, processes, responds, distributes, files, maintains, and/or takes action as appropriate.
• Operates a computer, printer, calculator, and other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including CRM use.
• Logs customer service requests into PQA and schedules merchandise repairs for customers.
• Assist customers on the sales floor as assigned by management; participate in sales floor rotation, greet customers, demonstrate products, and update CRM.
• Maintains an acceptable sales quota as established in store goals; adheres to standards.
