Job summary

Community Coffee in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Route Relief Sales Representative to support the Sales Manager by planning relief for assigned routes, ensuring uninterrupted service by delivering products and maintaining inventory.

The position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service or sales experience, and being 21 or older with a valid driver’s license; CDL may be required by location. You will build relationships, promote products, and represent the company at events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of customer service or sales experience is required.
• Route sales and cold calling experience in a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) environment is preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL may be required based on location.
• Acceptable driving record.
• DOT medical certification required.
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical.
• COVID vaccination may be required depending on customer requirements for route access.
• Internal Only: Experience with Community Coffee may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

• Plan route relief schedules in advance with the Sales Manager.
• Deliver products, equipment, and supplies to existing customers during relief periods.
• Solicit additional product purchases from current customers to drive sales.
• Collect customer payments and manage daily route deposits.
• Load and maintain accurate truck inventory for each visit.
• Maintain product freshness and shelf presentation.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent service and support.
• Maintain and service coffee brewing equipment at customer locations.
• Record and update accurate sales, inventory, and delivery information.
• Participate in trade shows and special events to promote company products.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and keep the truck clean.
• May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary.
