Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a leader to oversee daily operations of the Coding, Auditing and Compliance programs. You will manage education materials, audits, and data reporting to support clinical and financial objectives.

The role requires extensive CPT/ICD-10 knowledge, regulatory awareness, and strong leadership to guide physicians and staff in documentation and coding accuracy. Collaborative, cross‑functional work is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree and extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and present educational topics.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience in managing coding, auditing, and compliance programs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for daily operations, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling all functions of the Coding, Auditing and Compliance programs.
• Manage coding education materials for internal and external audits and regulatory changes.
• Produce clinical data and statistical reports for clinicians and planning.
• Oversee audit processes for coding and billing operations.
• Conduct charge review and compliance audits and train personnel.
• Direct and educate physicians and staff on ICD-10, CPT, and documentation guidelines.
• Ensure accurate billing to Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payers per state regulations.
• Develop and maintain systems to optimize workflow and data quality for reimbursement.
• Develop and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Provide direct supervision over coding staff and duties.
