Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and completion of a coding program (AHIMA/AAPC) required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree; RHIT/RHIA/RN licensure preferred.
• 5+ years coding experience in professional/hospital services for external applicants.
• 4+ years pro-fee/outpatient/inpatient coding for internal applicants.
• Experience with 3M Encoding and Grouping software; Epic EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the Coding Education & Audit Manager, perform coding education and audits for various services.
• Code using ICD-10-CM and CPT accuracy; ensure proper documentation and coding assignments.
• Train new Coding Specialists and staff; promote guest relations policy.
• Comply with CMS, AHRQ, NCQA, URAC, and The Joint Commission regulations and protocols.
