Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Supervisor of Coding Compliance to support the Manager of Coding & Quality Assurance. You will oversee coding staff, monitor accuracy to minimize Bill Hold and AR days, and ensure compliance with government regulations.

You will mentor Coding Technicians, assist with training on encoder software, and participate in staff performance reviews. The role partners with multiple departments to resolve coding information needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, COC, CIPC.
• Minimum 5 years coding experience; hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate the activities of assigned staff.
• Conduct daily/weekly analysis of departmental reports and implement corrective actions.
• Distribute workloads and adjust staffing to meet service levels.
• Participate in interviewing and make hiring recommendations.
• Provide coaching and education to staff; conduct competency assessments.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage PTO and scheduling.
• Communicate strategically with teams; conduct regular staff meetings.
• Assist in training new employees on encoder work queues and accounts.
• Maintain Bill Hold per policy and department goals.
• Engage in special projects and process improvements as assigned.
