Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under supervision. You will verify surface prep, measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and document every step of coating on tanks, structural steel, pipe and concrete.

Qualifications include AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ year in industrial coatings. The role involves working around blasting and spray operations, with meticulous record-keeping and instrument use.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temp, humidity, dew point) before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against datasheet.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
