Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of CIP Level 2/3 inspectors. You will verify surface preparation, measure ambient conditions, and document coating application on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

Qualifications include AMPP CIP Level 1 certification, current; 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection; comfortable working around blasting and spray operations;

Qualifications

• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point).
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against data sheets.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage of work.
