Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections of protective coating work under supervision. You will verify surface prep, measure ambient conditions, film thickness, and document every step on tanks, structural steel, pipe, and concrete.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1+ year in industrial coatings; willingness to work around blasting and spray operations and to keep meticulous records and measurements.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification is required and current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around blasting and spray operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE standard.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Maintain daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
