Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under supervision. You will verify surface prep, measure film thickness, and document each step for tanks, structures, pipes, and concrete.

The role requires CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience; you will work around blasting and spray operations and maintain precise logs and readings.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working with tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records; honest about gauge readings.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to specified SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet film and dry film thickness; check for holidays and defects.
• Verify coatings materials, batch numbers, mixing and pot life; keep daily inspection log and photograph stages.
