Job summary

First Solar in Trinity, Alabama is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to join the early-stage manufacturing team. You will safely operate coating equipment, manage materials, and help produce high-quality photovoltaic modules at the required rate.

You will perform basic quality checks, respond to alarms, use hand tools, and participate in training and cross-functional teamwork as part of a busy production floor. This role supports ongoing process efficiency and safety on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for external candidates.
• Preference for Associate's degree or certificate in a technical discipline.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Warehousing, textile, agriculture, or material inspection may substitute.
• Internal candidates must have 60 internal training credits or supervisor endorsement.
• Positive ratings for Safety, Performance, Dependability, and Collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates and maintains tools and equipment to meet quality and productivity.
• Completes training within the required timeframe.
• Provides on-the-job training to team members when requested.
• Performs maintenance on equipment with hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift and crane with proper training and certification.
• Interfaces with equipment computers to monitor parameters and alarms.
• Monitors process data (SPC) and makes decisions to maintain control.
• Escalates issues with good communication to leadership.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on problem solving.
• Ensures proper inventory levels for the next shift.
• Ensures waste is discarded timely and appropriately.
