Job summary

First Solar Inc. in Trinity, Alabama is hiring a Production Coater Technician I to begin the manufacturing process, including the coating application of semiconductor materials.

The role safely operates specific equipment, manages materials and processes to produce high-quality photovoltaic modules at the required rate. You will perform preventative maintenance, address intermediate alarms, conduct basic quality control, use hand tools and simple interfaces, and train others after certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Alternate experience considered (warehousing, textiles, agriculture, or material inspection).
• Safety minded with basic troubleshooting and SPC understanding.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate coating equipment and manage materials to produce photovoltaic modules.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to intermediate alarms.
• Conduct basic quality checks and use simple hand tools during floor operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem solving.
• Provide on-the-job training to teammates after certification.
• Maintain proper inventory and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.
