Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to support the early manufacturing steps, including coating operations for photovoltaic modules. The role emphasizes safe operation, basic maintenance, and quality control within a busy production floor.

Candidates should bring a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related manufacturing experience. Preference will be given to those with technical certificates and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or certificate in a technical field preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Internal candidates need 60 internal credits or equivalent.
• Security and safety training applicable.
• Endorsement from supervisor for promotion.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tools and equipment to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Complete training within required timeframe.
• Provide on‑the‑job training to team members when requested.
• Perform maintenance on equipment with hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operate forklift/crane with proper training and certification when required.
• Monitor process data and alarms, escalating as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on problem solving.
• Maintain inventory levels and proper waste disposal.
