Job summary

Books-A-Million in the United States (Hattiesburg area) seeks a Co-Manager to blend day-to-day store operations with leadership duties alongside the management team. You will drive sales, ensure customer service excellence, and oversee merchandising plan execution to maintain store standards and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising category teams, opening/closing shifts, training associates, handling security, and collaborating with the General Manager on performance reviews.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisor role.
• Successful completion of all required background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maximizes profits and customer service by leading assigned category team and operating the store in adherence with all Company policy and guidelines.
• Operates the store as the Manager On Duty in conjunction with the management team.
• Maintains the physical security of the store they are assigned, and in doing so is a key-holding member of management.
• Ensures highest level of customer service and handles customer complaints to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Maintains category merchandising and cleanliness and ensures operational efficiency.
• Trains and develops Associates and Leads.
• Facilitates effective communication to all store Associates through daily briefings and weekly and monthly meetings.
• Drops off bank deposit and pick up change order as needed
• Picks up café grocery supplies (milk, baked goods, etc.) as needed
• Consults with the General Manager on associate performance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
