Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a CNC Tooling Sales and Application Engineer to drive metal-cutting tool sales growth in the Wichita, Kansas area. The role blends technical machining knowledge with proactive sales activities, customer relationship management, and field support to meet revenue targets.

The position involves travel to customer sites, demonstrations, pre-sales support, and collaboration with internal teams. A base salary plus bonus and benefits start day one.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or degree in Business, Manufacturing and/or Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of related CNC machining industry experience, 1–2 years of technical sales and/or application experience preferred.
• Proficient in product knowledge, including applications and troubleshooting; can tailor solutions to meet customer needs.
• Independent in executing strategic sales plans and meeting targets.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed revenue targets by effectively providing metal cutting solutions and understanding market trends.
• Generate, qualify, and manage sales leads, prospects, and new customer accounts.
• Proactively manage the full sales process including prospecting, demos, pricing, and negotiations.
• Develop and execute strategic territory plans to deliver revenue goals in product sales.
• Provide timely answers to pre-sales technical and commercial queries from customers.
• Maintain CRM records to ensure a healthy pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a positive end-to-end customer experience.
• Conduct demonstrations of metal cutting products and deliver workshops/webinars as needed.
• Represent Kennametal at tradeshows and events within the territory.
