This role focuses on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Fanuc-controlled CNC mills, primarily Doosan 4100 and 300 machines. You will work with modern 2-axis and 4-axis equipment with live tooling, using your strong understanding of G and M codes to load, edit, and optimize programs at the machine. The ideal candidate steps into a small, fast-paced job shop environment with minimal training and quickly becomes productive by ensuring accurate, efficient machining of precision parts.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC mills, including Doosan 4100 and 300 machines, to produce precision parts according to job orders.

  • Load CNC programs at the machine, using a strong understanding of G and M codes to navigate, review, and verify programs before running.

  • Single-block programs through their cycle, observing tool paths and making necessary edits to refraction points and other parameters to ensure optimal performance and part quality.

  • Interpret and follow job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine machining operations, tooling requirements, and setup specifications.

  • Perform machine setups, including installing and aligning tooling, workholding, and fixtures for 2-axis and 4-axis operations with live tooling.

  • Edit CNC programs directly at the machine using G and M codes to correct errors, improve efficiency, and accommodate engineering or process changes.

  • Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and other inspection tools to verify part dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Conduct in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality throughout production runs.

  • Maintain a clean, organized machine area and handle tooling, work holding, and equipment with care to support consistent, safe operation.

  • Collaborate with team members in the machine shop to coordinate workflow, share technical knowledge, and support efficient production.

  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision, taking ownership of machine performance, part quality, and schedule adherence.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Haas machines, CNC lathes, and related machining equipment is beneficial.

  • Experience working with 2-axis and 4-axis machines and live tooling is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with CNC programming concepts and G code programming, even if not serving as a full programmer.

  • Comfort working in a small machine shop environment where versatility and hands‑on problem‑solving are valued.

  • Ability to perform both setups and production machining, including inspection and basic troubleshooting.

  • Openness to direct placement opportunities for candidates who demonstrate strong technical skills and a solid work ethic.
