Join a small, team‑oriented environment with ITAR and NADCAP compliance, a four‑day work week (4/10), weekly pay, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision.
This role focuses on full setup and operation of CNC milling equipment, primarily Okuma and Haas machines, to produce high-precision components for demanding applications. You will work with tight-tolerance GD&T prints, perform detailed quality inspections using precision measuring tools and CMMs, and contribute to a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment that emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.
Set up and operate Okuma and Haas CNC mills to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
Perform full machine setup, including tooling selection, workholding, offsets, and program loading, to ensure efficient and accurate machining.
Operate and support a variety of CNC machines, including multi-spindle, mill-turn, Swiss, horizontal, vertical, and up to 5-axis machining centers.
Read and interpret GD&T blueprints and engineering drawings, ensuring all parts meet specified dimensions and geometric tolerances, including tolerances as tight as 0.0001" to 0.003".
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify part conformity and document inspection results.
Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, offsets, and tooling to maintain quality and productivity.
Edit M and G code as needed to refine programs, improve part quality, and optimize cycle times, within defined process controls.
Set up and run CNC lathes and other equipment as required to support production needs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop area, following established procedures and best practices.
Collaborate with engineering, programming, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
Adhere to ITAR and NADCAP requirements while working on aerospace and defense components, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards.
Document setups, adjustments, and production information to support repeatability and continuous improvement.
At least 3 years of experience as a CNC machinist with setup and operation of Okuma and Haas CNC machines.
Proficiency in full setup and operation of CNC mills, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program loading.
Hands‑on experience with CNC lathes and general machining operations in a machine shop environment.
Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints and engineering drawings, including working to tolerances as tight as 0.0001" to 0.003".
Strong skills in precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, and other standard inspection tools.
Experience using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) for quality inspection.
Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
Proven ability to work with tight tolerances and high-precision components, particularly in aerospace or similarly regulated industries.
Solid understanding of CNC machining processes for mills and lathes, including horizontal and vertical milling.
Competence in basic M and G code editing or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn.
Demonstrated ability to perform accurate machine setups and maintain consistent part quality.
Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with Mazak CNC machines is a plus.
Exposure to 5‑axis machining centers, mill‑turn, Swiss, and multi‑spindle equipment is highly beneficial.
Any CNC programming experience is a plus, including creating or modifying programs at the control or offline.
Experience working in an ITAR‑regulated and NADCAP‑certified aerospace or defense environment.
Background in machining aerospace components or other high‑precision, regulated products.
Familiarity with advanced CNC technology and modern machine shop practices.
Strong problem‑solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to work effectively in a smaller team environment with direct access to leadership.
You will join a family‑owned, employee‑focused organization that values craftsmanship, teamwork, and long‑term growth.
