Job summary

Pratt & Whitney RTX seeks a skilled machinist to produce precision metal parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual machines. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and work orders to meet dimensional and quality standards.

The role includes inspecting finished work, maintaining records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Shift: 2nd shift with training period; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in core discipline with 4–5 months of employment.
• Proficiency in operating moderate to difficult CNC programs.
• Basic computer literacy; MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint preferred.
• Understanding of production processes, quality control and CI tools.
• Ability to maintain records and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Produce machine parts by programming, assembling and operating CNC/manual machines.
• Interpret blueprints, orders, and GD&T for material and dimensional needs.
• Assemble, repair and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or units.
• Take material measurements and select suitable machines.
• Perform machining setups and adjustments.
• Inspect finished work; check SPC charts and gauging records.
• Maintain quality and safety records; follow EHS/CI guidelines.
• Support extended shifts or overtime as needed.
