Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT is seeking a Production Machinist for 2nd shift to set up and operate machine tools, ensuring precision turbine engine parts. You will follow drawings, use milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching and shaping processes, and maintain quality with gaging and fixtures. Requires a high school diploma or GED with machining experience; 1–3 years preferred.

U.S. citizenship or eligibility may be required for access to program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 6 months machining experience.
• Preference for 1–3 years machining experience.
• U.S. citizenship or eligibility required for access to program.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate one or more machine tools in a production area to produce precision turbine engine parts.
• Follow verbal/written instructions, drawings and operation sheets to meet dimensional specifications.
• Identify and replace dull or damaged cutting tools and perform quality checks with measuring instruments.
• Perform bench, assembly and surface finishing operations using hand and power tools.
• Conduct drilling, riveting and bonding operations to assemble parts and finish components.
• Operate part-marking equipment and various surface conditioning processes.
• Maintain equipment and follow written maintenance/checklists for assigned area.
