Job summary

RTX is seeking a CNC Machinist for Collins Aerospace in the United States to operate and program CNC/manual machines, read blueprints, and perform inspections on 3rd shift. You will set up jobs, select materials, and ensure quality and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include interpreting GD&T, documenting work, and maintaining records. Strong CI knowledge and cross-functional communication are essential, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent technical education is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC machining centers.
• Certification in core discipline within 4–5 months of employment.
• Proficiency in operating the company’s designated CNC programs.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and processes.
• Strong communication skills across disciplines and levels, with ability to resolve issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Program, assemble, and operate CNC or manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and other equipment.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, GD&T to determine operation, material, and dimensional requirements.
• Assemble, repair, and fabricate metal parts into sub-units or complete units using mechanical equipment.
• Conduct machine setups, select materials and appropriate machines, and perform adjustments.
• Inspect produced work and monitor measurements, SPC charts as required.
• Maintain records and comply with safety and quality standards.
