Job summary

Valcor Engineering Corporation in Springfield, NJ, seeks an experienced machinist to set up and perform diversified progressive machining, fitting and assembly operations from blueprints and verbal instructions. You will determine tooling, sequences, jigs and fixtures, and operate CNC machining centers and grinders to produce parts to spec.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus an apprenticeship or about four to five years as a machinist.

Qualifications

• Requires a High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Requires the completion of an apprenticeship program or similar on the job experience of approximately four years or at least five years experience as a machinist.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform diversified progressive machining, fitting and assembly operations from blueprints or verbal instructions.
• Determine tooling and sequence of operations; design jigs and fixtures as needed.
• Operate CNC machining center and grinders with proficiency.
• Use shop math, geometry and trigonometry to ensure tolerances.
• Move parts and maintain good housekeeping; meet safety requirements.
• Assign work to lower level machinists when needed.
• Inspect finished parts with measurement tools and ensure specifications.
