Job summary

Basaran Grinder Corporation in Hauppauge, NY seeks an entry-level CNC machinist to operate mills/lathes using established programs and setup instructions. You will learn setup, process control, and Basaran quality expectations while producing and inspecting parts safely.

Responsibilities include loading materials, verifying tooling and machine condition, measuring parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. On-site, full-time role with standard weekday hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions/tolerances.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, indicators, or willingness to develop inspection skills.
• Safe and dependable machine-operation habits.
• Ability to follow setup sheets and ask for help before changing an unapproved process.
• Interest in developing into an independent CNC machinist.

Responsibilities

• Load material and parts, call up approved programs, and run established jobs.
• Check tools, coolant, workholding, offsets, and machine condition before operation.
• Measure parts at defined intervals and record inspection results.
• Make wear-offset adjustments and identify abnormal tool wear or machine behavior.
• Deburr, clean, protect, and identify finished parts.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.
