Job summary

Morris Group, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair CNC lathe, milling, and multi-functional machining centers at customer sites across the United States.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, on-site training, and rapid problem resolution. The ideal candidate will travel frequently, read mechanical and electrical schematics, and work with PLCs and machine control systems while learning and applying new technologies.

Qualifications

  • Proficient verbal and written communication and customer relation skills.
  • Able to interact and effectively communicate in person and over the phone with customer and co-workers.
  • Present a professional image and adapt to changes or delays in workload.
  • Basic digital literacy and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to develop electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of machine tool manufacture, installation, operation, maintenance or a broad shop background is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical and logical problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Able to make rational decisions and solve problems efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, diagnose, and repair CNC equipment at customer facilities.
  • Provide operator training and network systems between equipment and software.
  • Travel daily to customer facilities with occasional overnight stays.
  • Communicate feedback from customers to the service group.
  • Build and sustain customer relationships to promote brand loyalty.
  • Apply manuals and diagrams to diagnose CNC issues and perform repairs.
