Job summary

Quanta US is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the Midwest. This hands-on role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and technical support of industrial machinery used with CNC lathes and related equipment.

You will work in the field, install/configure machines, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical/electronic systems, interact with HMIs, and train operators while maintaining detailed service documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in CNC machinery, machine tools, or field service.
• Experience as CNC maintenance/service technician or field service engineer.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems knowledge.
• Associate degree in Electromechanics, Automation, or related tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure new machinery at customer facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Interpret alarms and use diagnostic tools to identify problems.
• Work with HMIs and machine configurations.
• Provide software updates and equipment adjustments as required.
• Perform hands-on mechanical work and equipment modifications.
• Replace components to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical training to operators and maintenance staff.
• Maintain service documentation and reports in CRM.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates.
• Work independently in the field while collaborating with the service team.
