Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer sites nationwide. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise, plus the ability to diagnose complex issues and travel extensively (100%).

Training and support will be provided as needed, with reporting to the CNC Field Service Manager. Preference for candidates near major airports east of the Mississippi.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machine tool maintenance and service experience.
• Experience providing remote technical support in the machine tool industry.
• Proven ability to install and service machining centers, including leveling and alignment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC control systems, including FANUC controls.

Responsibilities

• Install new CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including options and accessories.
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions including repair or replacement.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Travel extensively to customer sites for service and installation.
