Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is partnering with a CNC Machine Tool Builder to recruit a Field Service Engineer responsible for installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC machine tools at customer facilities nationwide.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical expertise, advanced diagnostic skills, and a customer-first mindset. You will report to the CNC Field Service Manager and be based anywhere east of the Mississippi, with preference near an airport and the IL/TN/KY/OH region.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machine tool maintenance and service experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic capabilities
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to travel 100% workdays and work independently in the field

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including options and accessories
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks and final adjustments
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues
• Identify root causes and recommend repair or replacement solutions
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone and email
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting
• Travel extensively (100%) and support customers, distributors, and internal teams
