Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting partners with a CNC machine tool builder to hire a Field Service Engineer who installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains CNC tools at customer sites nationwide. The role reports to the CNC Field Service Manager and can be based anywhere east of the Mississippi, with preference for candidates near an airport and in IL, TN, KY, AL, or OH.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machine tool maintenance and service experience (electrical and mechanical).
• 5+ years experience providing remote technical support in the machine tool industry.
• Proven experience installing and servicing machining centers, including leveling and alignment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CNC control systems, including FANUC controls.
• Solid understanding of power circuits and industrial electrical systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including options and accessories.
• Perform machine leveling and geometry checks for peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, including repairs or replacements.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone, email, and other channels.
• Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance and problem resolution.
• Provide customer training and assist with project coordination as needed.
• Support service at trade shows and company events when required.
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
• Travel 100% including overnights and weekends as needed.
