Job summary

MDS Staffing partners with a CNC machine tool builder to recruit a Field Service Engineer. The role installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains CNC machine tools at customer facilities nationwide, reporting to the CNC Field Service Manager. The candidate should have strong electrical and mechanical expertise and a customer-first mindset, with willingness to travel.

The position can be based anywhere east of the Mississippi, with preference near airports and IL/TN/KY/AL/OH.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC machine tool maintenance and service (electrical and mechanical).
5+ years of experience providing remote technical support within the machine tool industry.
Proven experience installing and servicing machining centers, including leveling and geometric alignment.

Responsibilities

Install CNC machine tool systems at customer sites, including options and accessories.
Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic issues.
Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Provide on-site and remote technical support via phone and email.
Support customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance.
Provide customer training and assist with project coordination.
Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting.
Travel extensively (100%) including overnights and weekends.
Perform other duties as needed.
