Job summary

Okuma America Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Technician with 5–7 years of experience to install, diagnose, repair and maintain Okuma CNC machines and automation systems. This full-time position involves up to 50% travel and day shifts.

You will provide on-site and remote support, develop service documentation, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on quality and customer success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience supporting CNC machine tools, automation systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs; Okuma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Okuma CNC machines, automation systems, and integrated manufacturing solutions.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, control, software, and automation issues.
• Perform machine retrofits, upgrades, and system improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Support robotics, material handling systems, and other automated manufacturing technologies.
• Provide advanced on-site and remote technical support to customers and distributors; escalate complex issues as needed.
