Job summary

Okuma America Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician Level 2-4 to diagnose and repair a range of Okuma products at customer sites and support installation of high‑tech machines in Charlotte, NC. The role emphasizes root cause analysis, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and generating clear trip reports.

Applicants should have an Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent, at least 5 years in CNC controls and automation, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs, and automation, plus a strong mechanical background.
• 5 years of prior machine tool experience (Okuma preferred).
• FANUC CNC experience (preferred).
• Prior technical writing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facility to provide troubleshooting and repair support.
• Travel to customer facility for installation of new introductory model equipment.
• Travel to customer facility for installation of retrofits and design improvements.
• Diagnose and help customers with problems by phone or e-mail.
• Generate technical bulletins and repair manuals.
• Adhere to all company policies and safe practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned and explore value-adding opportunities.
