Job summary

Okuma America Corporation seeks a skilled Field Service Technician IV to provide expert technical support, machine installations, and repair services across North America. You will diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, software, and automation issues on Okuma CNC tools and related equipment.

Responsibilities include traveling to customer sites, performing installations, commissioning, retrofits, and documenting service activities.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of CNC controls, servo systems, PLCs, automation, and mechanical background.
• 5 years of prior machine tool experience (Okuma preferred).
• FANUC CNC experience (preferred).
• Okuma–Howa product knowledge (preferred).
• Prior technical writing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Okuma machine tools and automation systems.
• Perform installations and commissioning of new machine models and advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Install retrofit packages and implement machine upgrades or design improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving mechanical systems, controls, hardware, software, and automation technologies.
• Provide technical support to customers and distributors via phone, email, and remote troubleshooting tools.
• Document service activities and communicate findings through detailed service reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with distributors, customers, and internal service teams to ensure timely issue resolution and a positive customer experience.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and best practices.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and add value to customers.
