Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a CNA Hospice Aide to provide compassionate, hands-on daily living assistance to patients receiving hospice and home health care.

You will work with the hospice care team to support dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being, following the plan of care and reporting changes to the nurse.

This role requires current CNA certification and CPR, valid driver's license, and prior CNA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant (CNA) per state requirements.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
• CNA experience within the last two years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients
• Applies safety principles and body mechanics during care
• Plans meals and assists with feeding
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse
• Follows written instructions from the registered nurse
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed
• Performs simple urine tests as directed
• Other duties as assigned
