Job summary

The Good Samaritan Nursing Assistant (NA) role at De Smet, SD supports residents in long-term care with daily living activities and compassionate nursing care under RN supervision. The NA helps with bathing, grooming, nutrition, mobility, vital signs, and basic health tasks, while adhering to care plans and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board, or in process within four months.
• Annual continuing education minimum of 12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, meals, and mobility.
• Document resident interactions and report changes to charge nurse.
