Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NA) for the GSS SD Desmet Center in De Smet, SD. The role supports resident-centered care in a long-term care setting under RN supervision, performing activities of daily living, vital signs, and mobility assistance while upholding infection control policies.

The position requires a CNA certification and either a high school diploma or GED; experience in long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required by facility.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning and mobility using proper techniques.
• Record vital signs and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Support dining, meals, hydration, and overall resident well-being.

Education
