Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, transport specimens, and help maintain a clean, safe environment, ensuring family-centered care.

The role requires a high school diploma and timely BLS certification; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain BLS/HeartSaver certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care with basic physical tasks under RN supervision.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients and specimens for tests and procedures.
• Perform routine testing (glucose, urine) per policy where allowed.
• Take vital signs and monitor patient status; communicate changes to RN.
• Assist with examinations, rehab activities, and nutrition discussions.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and equipment; answer calls promptly.
