Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the night shift to perform direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include transporting patients, assisting with exams, and maintaining a clean, safe environment in a busy unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care with basic physical care as directed by RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bedmaking.
• Safely transport patients and specimens as required.
• Perform routine phlebotomy per department policy (not on Subacute Unit).
• Record vital signs and measurements according to policy.
• Provide respiratory support and assist with Computed procedures as needed.
• Communicate patient needs and changes to RN promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with procedures.
• Assist with rehabilitation activities and mobility.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent infections.
