Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for night shift (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) to support registered nurses in direct patient care, provide basic comfort, and assist with daily living activities.

You will perform routine measurements, assist with examinations, transport patients and specimens, and help maintain a safe, clean environment on 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care under RN supervision to promote comfort.
• Assist with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Transport patients and specimens per policy.
• Perform routine tests and phlebotomy as assigned.
• Record vital signs and assist with examinations.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and respond to calls.
• Support unit operations and communicate with RN.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.
