Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support Registered Nurses in direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, transport patients and specimens, and help prepare patients for examinations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care to promote comfort as directed by RN.
• Aid with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Safely transport patients and escorts for procedures and discharge.
• Perform routine tests and vital signs as delegated.
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen handling where approved.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report concerns to RN.
