Job summary

ASM Research is seeking an IT Configuration Analyst to lead CMDB governance, data quality, and cross-team collaboration across operations, engineering, and service management. The role focuses on maintaining trusted configuration data for informed decision-making in a regulated federal IT environment.

Responsibilities include audits, data quality initiatives, and ensuring accurate linkage of CIs to incident, change, and problem records, with ITIL-aligned processes and a SECRET clearance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4–7 years of experience in configuration management or related IT operations.
• ITIL-aligned concepts and integration with incident/change/problem processes.
• Experience with enterprise ITSM/CMDB platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance with U.S. citizenship.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day CMDB operations by establishing and enforcing CI processes.
• Analyze discovery feeds, updates, and change records to fix data discrepancies.
• Plan and execute configuration audits and certifications with owning teams.
• Configure ITSM/CMDB tools to build queries, reports, and dashboards.
• Ensure change, incident, and problem records link to CIs for traceability.
• Define, monitor, and report CMDB data quality metrics with governance.
• Contribute to configuration management plans aligned with ITIL and federal policy.
