Job summary

24 Hour Fitness USA, LLC in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Operations Manager to partner with the General Manager to run a clean, safe, and welcoming club, ensuring exceptional member experiences. You will lead front-line operations, including Club Attendants, Kids' Club Attendants, and Sales & Service Associates, and own wage-and-hour compliance and timekeeping across the club.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team-lead experience in fitness, hospitality, retail, or customer service.
Experience building employee schedules and managing labor hours to a budget.
Working knowledge of wage-and-hour practices, including meal/rest periods and timekeeping.
Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills with a member-first service mindset.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with POS, scheduling/timekeeping systems, Microsoft 365, and mobile/tablet-based tools.
Current CPR/AED certification (including infant/child CPR and First Aid for Kids' Club coverage) or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
Ability to obtain and maintain state-required childcare certification and background clearance for the work location, including California TrustLine where applicable.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise Club Attendants, Kids' Club Attendants, and Sales & Service Associates; partner with GM on recruiting and selection.
Onboard and train new team members on service standards, club systems, safety, and timekeeping; ensure training and certifications are current.
Coach team members, conduct performance conversations, and recommend pay, promotions, and corrective action.
Address employee-relations concerns promptly and fairly; escalate to GM/HR when appropriate.
Process new hire paperwork and personnel changes in HR systems.
Publish weekly schedules for all direct reports; align coverage to member traffic and labor budget.
Incorporate compliant meal/rest periods into schedules; manage real-time coverage and breaks.
Review timecards for missed/lateness or improper meal/rest periods; resolve issues and ensure premiums where needed.
Approve timecard edits with documentation; enforce accurate time worked.
Ensure compliance with minor work-hour restrictions and work permits where applicable.
Monitor labor hours and overtime; report variances and corrective actions to GM.
Hold team accountable to scheduling/timekeeping policies and support meal/rest audits.
