Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Professional Services Cloud Architects (PCAM) to lead a team of 8–10 PCAs in North America. You will coach, mentor, and drive complex customer engagements while partnering with NAMER leadership and cross-functional teams to accelerate customers’ cloud journeys.

The role emphasizes hands-on customer work and frontline people leadership, with a focus on developing talent and delivering outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT and/or Management Consulting, or 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders.
• Experience in fast-paced/ambiguous environments or cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience in guiding, training and mentoring others or working with customers.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 8–10 PCAs, fostering technical excellence and a collaborative culture.
• Lead performance management, career development, goal setting, and regular 1:1 coaching.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention to build a high-performing team.
• Identify and develop future leaders; ensure team certification compliance.
• Create an inclusive environment where PCAs can grow, take risks, and learn from ambiguity.
• Serve as a hands-on technical and strategic advisor alongside PCAs in complex customer engagements.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and partners, engaging at the executive level when needed.
• Act as an escalation point for technical and commercial challenges within the team.
• Champion CSAT improvements across all engagements.
• Partner with peer PCA Managers to share best practices and balance workloads across NAMER.
• Collaborate with NAMER leadership on regional strategy and coverage planning.
• Work with PAEs, Delivery Teams, and AGS Sales for seamless handoffs.
• Foster knowledge sharing and community of practice.
• Drive billable bookings via team enablement and deal coaching.
• Optimize engagement margin through right-sized scoping and design.
• Monitor deal velocity and identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Champion AI adoption with customers and builders.
• Track KPIs: bookings, margin, CSAT, development, and operations.
