Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced hardware engineering professional to lead and optimize server hardware, compute, storage, accelerators, and networking in data center environments. The role covers end-to-end lifecycle management from production tests to decommissioning across on-premises and cloud capacity.

You will diagnose systemic hardware issues, drive RCA/CA with cross-functional teams, and partner with cloud providers to improve fleet reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience with server hardware in internet operations or design/test.
• Experience triaging and debugging hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience mentoring technicians/engineers and documenting for users.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for compute, storage, and accelerator platforms in data centers and cloud capacity.
• Act as deep escalation point for cloud hardware issues and drive investigations.
• Identify systemic hardware issues across cloud providers and platform scope.
• Represent reliability and serviceability expectations to cloud providers.
• Carry findings back to Meta's platform work to accelerate cloud diagnosis.
• Provide end-to-end lifecycle support for hardware platforms and new tech.
• Drive complex technical investigations across Hardware, Software/Firmware, Networking and Power & Cooling.
• Analyze fleet health to proactively identify systemic issues and mitigate impact.
• Collaborate with HW Engineering, Release to Production, and Systems Integration for mass production.
• Identify risks in new hardware programs and contribute test methods.
• Own products for specific server/storage platforms; perform RCA/CA with teams.
• Issue timely alerts/fixes to ops teams and provide feedback to engineering.
• Build cross-functional relationships and solicit feedback to improve operations.
