Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly technical Platform Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology team. You will mentor engineers and drive platform improvements, ensuring OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP/Azure run with high availability, security, and scalability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLAs/SLOs, automate IaC, and align the platform strategy with business needs. This remote-friendly role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in platform/DevOps/SRE roles.
Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
Deep technical expertise with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure.
Experience with service management concepts (SLAs/SLOs/incident management).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Teamwork and delivery: contribute to a high-performing platform engineering team.
Platform management: operate OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP/Azure with high availability, security, and scalability.
Service delivery: define and monitor SLAs/SLOs and MTTR to meet internal customer needs.
Automation and efficiency: drive IaC initiatives and best practices (Terraform, GitOps).
Strategy: align platform roadmap with business needs across cross-functional teams.
Incident management: support troubleshooting and post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
