Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly technical Platform Engineer to join Enterprise Technology. You will mentor engineers, manage OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP/Azure, and drive automation with IaC while focusing on reliability and security.

You will contribute to platform strategy, SLA/SLO governance, and incident response, working with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions. Remote-friendly role in a large global organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience working with platform, DevOps, or site reliability engineers.
Deep technical expertise with container orchestration platforms, specifically OpenShift and/or Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with managing and operating cloud infrastructure on GCP and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

Team work and delivery: Collaborate with a high-performing team of platform engineers to deliver solutions.
Platform Management: Manage OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP and Azure ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Service Delivery: Define, monitor and meet SLAs, SLOs, and MTTR/MTTx to support internal customers.
Automation and Efficiency: Drive IaC practices and automation to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.
Strategy: Align platform capabilities with business needs through cross-functional roadmap planning.
Incident Management: Support incident investigations and post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
