Job summary
Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join Enterprise Technology. You will lead a team of platform engineers, manage OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP and Azure, and drive automation and IaC initiatives to ensure reliable, scalable services for internal customers.
The role requires 5+ years of experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, plus a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
- Proven experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Team work and delivery: Collaborate with a high-performing team of platform engineers.
- Platform Management: Manage OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP and Azure for high availability, security, and scalability.
- Service Delivery: Define, monitor, and meet SLAs/SLOs and MTTR to support internal customers.
- Automation and Efficiency: Drive IaC practices and automation to reduce manual tasks.
- Strategy: Align platform capabilities with business needs and roadmap across cross-functional teams.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot platform issues and conduct post-mortems to prevent recurrence.
