Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly technical Platform Engineer to mentor engineers and advance distributed systems on OpenShift and Kubernetes.

You will manage cloud infrastructure on GCP/Azure, drive automation, and shape the platform strategy with cross-functional teams to meet service levels and business needs.

Salary grades range with robust compensation; visa sponsorship is not available and qualified US workers only.

Qualifications

Strong background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Deep technical expertise with container orchestration platforms (OpenShift and Kubernetes).
Hands-on experience with managing and operating cloud infrastructure on GCP and Azure.

Responsibilities

Team work and delivery: collaborate with a high-performing platform team.
Platform Management: manage OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters on GCP/Azure for high availability and security.
Service Delivery: define and monitor SLAs/SLOs and MTTR to support internal customers.
Automation and Efficiency: advance IaC practices to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency.
Strategy: align platform roadmap with business needs and user requirements.
Incident Management: assist in troubleshooting and post-mortem analyses.
