Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Network Deployment Technician to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across multiple data centers and colocation sites in the Americas. The role involves working independently at times and driving change with clear communication.

You will install and configure networking gear, troubleshoot cabling, coordinate remote hands for capacity installs, and collaborate across teams to deliver projects while ensuring safety and AWS standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• High school or equivalent diploma.

Responsibilities

• Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration.
• Coordinating colocation remote hands for new capacity installations.
• Work cross functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects.
• Resolving data center and facility issues.
• Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues.
• Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects.
• Building relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events.
• Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
• Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
• Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
• Decommissioning of cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.
