Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Lynnwood, WA seeks a Network Deployment Technician to build and maintain cloud infrastructure across data centers and colocation sites in the Americas.

The role involves independent work periods and driving change with strong communication. You will install routers, switches, and DWDM gear, troubleshoot cabling, coordinate remote hands, and lead deployment projects while ensuring safety and AWS standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of computer networking experience.
• 2+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Experience in computer networking.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or experience related IT.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration.
• Coordinate colocation remote hands for new capacity installations.
• Work cross functionally with internal partners to deliver network capacity projects.
• Resolve data center and facility issues.
• Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant connectivity issues.
• Lead small to mid-size network deployment projects.
• Build relationships with remote teams to ensure swift response times to events.
• Perform site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
• Improve all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
• Decommissioning of cable and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.
