Job summary

Amwins in Kentucky is hiring a Cloud Engineer to manage day-to-day operations of virtualized servers and container workloads across AWS, Azure, and VMware. You’ll support hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, monitor health, and ensure security and reliability.

The role requires strong scripting and incident response, familiarity with DNS/DHCP, and collaboration with infrastructure and engineering teams. Shift is 11 PM–7 AM EST, with opportunities for process improvements and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure infrastructure experience including VMs, storage, VNets, App Services, Key Vaults, Entra ID, and RBAC.
• Strong AWS hands-on with EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront; scripting with Python/Bash/Go; Docker, Kubernetes.
• VMware/vSphere production experience; VM lifecycle, host/cluster operations, troubleshooting.
• Extensive Windows Server and Linux troubleshooting; network diagnostics with Wireshark.
• PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for automating tasks.
• Experience with DNS and DHCP administration and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot hybrid cloud workloads across Azure, AWS, and VMware.
• Perform patching, configuration, and lifecycle management of servers and cloud resources.
• Serve as escalation point for incidents, perform root-cause analysis, drive closure.
• Administer DNS, DHCP, and core network services; troubleshoot network issues.
• Provide OS-level troubleshooting for Windows Server and Linux.
• Manage AWS/Azure infrastructure objects across compute, networking, identity, and security.
• Automate operational tasks with scripting; document procedures and runbooks.
