Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to install server racks, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and support 24/7 operations. You will interact with engineers, vendors, and contractors, participate in on-call rotations, and help drive incident resolution and documentation.

This role requires lifting up to 40 pounds and willingness to travel between data centers. You will join a diverse, cross-functional team and contribute to maintaining AWS data center

Qualifications

• 1+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in computer networking and Linux operating systems.
• Able to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
• 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).

Responsibilities

• Performing server rack installations and hardware break-fix on components.
• Troubleshooting network issues and responding to operational incidents.
• Carrying out routine network, server hardware, and OS repairs to maintain AWS service availability.
• Serving as a primary contact point for internal/external stakeholders.
• Performing on-call duties and participating in maintenance and change management.
